Bijan Pakzad, a former engineer,was nicknamed the 'Persian Master of Fashion' by the famous POINT DE VUE magazine (17 0ct 2000).

In 20 years this energetic and charming man has created a multi-million empire from one of the top selling names in the fashion and perfume buisness. After emigrating to California in the 1980s, Bijan Pakzad has emerged as one of the success stories of the American-Iranian community. 'I dress a small elite,' Bijan says proudly. 'Maybe one-tenth of the 1percent richest men on the globe.' His customers have included Roger Moore, Ronald Reagan, Prince Rainier of Monaco, Michael Jordan, Prince Charles to name a few. His 'Bijan' perfume used by women like Hillary Clinton, Bo Derek and Sharon Stone ranks next to Calvin Klein and Coco Chanel.

Bijan's secret:hard work and attention to detail. 'I listen to my customers,' he says. 'I give them quality service and the Bijan touch.' The Bijan boutiques can be found in Rodeo Drive in Beverley Hills or New York's Fifth Avenue but his products and talent have become an international phenomenon.

Karim Faiz, 40 year Iranian born top fashion designer, entered the world of fashion at the age of 15. "I was very keen to design women's dress when I was just 10, and I tailored some of my sister's dress" he said.

He left Iran after the revolution and went to Turkey and from there to Denmark where he soon became very successful there and also in the neighbouring countries.

He has recently celebrated his 25th anniversary of his success in Kopenhagen, and will soon expand his activities to Paris. He has been designing new dresses for the Royal families, Celebraties, Politicians and other famous people.

He will be one of BIBA's speakers at the next Fashion and Design Business Meeting.

Bahman Mostaghimi was born in Urmia, Iran in 1954. He received his B.A.Hons degree in Fashion and Textiles from Brighton Polytechnic in 1979, followed by achieving his Master degree in Design from the Royal College of Art in 1982.

He started working for Stunzi Sons Switzerland as a Head Designer Couture Fabric (1982-85), and later for Scabal Belgium with the same position from 1986-87. He then continued his career by starting working at Brighton University as a Head of Woven Textiles (1987-99), followed by becoming the Head of Fashion Textiles at the same University (1999-present).
